Our process
We began the production process by working collaboratively with the client to write the copy that would appear on the interactive resource. This involved researching each of the workplace settings and writing descriptions for them and researching each of the 23 apprenticeships to describe each role and the length of the apprenticeship.
Once the copy was in place, we moved onto the illustration phase. So that we could develop illustrations that not only represented each apprenticeship but were also reflective of the workforce within general practice, dentist, ophthalmology and pharmacy, we asked NHS Health Education England to provide us with the demographic data for each apprentice. This included gender, age, ethnicity and details on clothing, uniform and props. We used this information to develop 23 new character illustrations.
During the design phase we also illustrated a homepage that featured a street scene with buildings that represented each workplace setting. We also illustrated multiple general practice, dentist, ophthalmology and pharmacy scenes to reflect where each of the personas would work and who they would work alongside.
At each stage of the production process the assets were shared with NHS Health Education England for feedback and final sign off. Once all the assets were signed off, we used them to develop the interactive resource. The resource went through rigorous internal testing before it was shared with the client for final approval.
